Guy Parmelin to deliver opening speech

We are thrilled to announce that Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, will deliver the opening speech at ECCB 2026, taking place in Geneva from 31 August to 4 September 2026 at the International Conference Centre (CICG).

ECCB, one of Europe’s leading conferences in computational biology and bioinformatics, will welcome over 1,000 international participants from academia, healthcare, and industry.

The opening session will also feature remarks from other distinguished leaders, including:

• Simone de Montmollin, National Council and President of SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics
• Anne Hiltpold, State Councillor and President of the Council of State
• Audrey Leuba, Rector of the University of Geneva
