Highlights from ELIXIR Communities

The call will open on 6  January 2026

The “Highlights from ELIXIR Communities” track will include highlight talks expected to showcase ELIXIR Community activities, benefits of being a Community/ELIXIR member and using ELIXIR resources. A close link to an application needs to be showcased (e.g. consider links to ELIXIR Recommended Interoperability Resources (RIRs), Core Data Resources (CDRs) or others). The selected highlight talks will be presented in person during the conference. The presentations will be approximately 15 minutes

Important note: Posters must be submitted through the regular ECCB 2026 Highlight Talks and Posters

Eligibility criteria:

  • Talks must be submitted by Community co-leads (but the presenter can be different).
    * Note that after formal submission the presenting author cannot be changed. The presenting author does not necessarily have to be the first author of the highlight talk.
  •  Each ELIXIR Community can submit multiple proposals.

Authors whose highlight talk submissions are not selected may be offered the opportunity to present a poster instead. Accepted posters will be presented in person at the ECCB 2026 conference. The space for posters will be limited, but we will make every effort to accommodate all appropriate poster submissions.

Submissions follow the general submission guidelines for all other highlight talks, as outlined on the conference page.

Keep in mind for your submission:

  • For “Highlights from ELIXIR Communities” track submissions please choose the “ELIXIR Track” as the Scientific Area (question 6).

2. Cover and discuss links to, benefits from and challenges as part of working within ELIXIR.
3. Showcase a close link to an application (e.g. consider links to ELIXIR Recommended Interoperability Resources (RIRs), Core Data Resources (CDRs) or others).
